They just took the bus back to Vancouver. Who, you ask? Ah. Long story. And I've been unable to update my blog for such a long while that I wasn't able to talk about the events leading up to it, either. My mom's friend from high school lives in Vancouver. We stayed over at their house about a year and a half ago. Her son, Daniel, was going to come down to Seattle to watch a Mariner's game with his friend from Germany, Andreas (and yes that was annoying: when someone would call, we would both turn). So, I can't remember how exactly it turned out, but it was accorded that the two could stay at our place. They came Monday afternoon while I was at work, and we chilled out (melting in the summer heat) in the evening. Then Tuesday I showed them around Seattle. I felt awful because I kept turning in the wrong direction. I make such a bad guide. I would like to clarify, however, that we were never, for the smallest moment, lost. It's just that I had never taken the bus to Pike Place, so while I knew where to get off the bus, I didn't know where (in respect to Pike Market) it had dropped us off. But we made it. If it wasn't so hot, I think it would have been a blast getting sidetracked. But a lot of the time we were looking for food or water. Oh and they both got a kick out of the University of Washington's nickname, U-Dub. Hours and hours of fun... :) I left them at Safeco field so they could watch their game (and Daniel could pay his deepest respects to Ichiro). When we got back, we got pictures taken and went to bed. Today we all woke up late-ish (except my dad, who had to go to work) and had breakfast. The boys packed while I read/napped and at around 11 or 12, we drove off to the airport and left them at the bus stop there. When we came back, we found a box of chocolates they had left for us, with a little note of thanks! It was really thoughtful. Unfortunately, Andreas left a bottle of coke in our fridge. He had been searching all over Seattle for a convenience store so he could redeem his bottle cap for a free* bottle. (*--"Free" actually means, "You pay nothing except 10 cents of tax.") So his unopened, 10 cent bottle of coke is sitting in our fridge.Anyway, it's been like a weekend for me because this week I work Monday Thursday and Friday. So Tuesday and today I took off because of our guests coming in.On Sunday, the 21st, I watched Road to Perdtion. Man, what a good movie! Tom Hanks does it again! To everyone who is not squeemish about some blood n gore, definately go see it!! Except, be warned, it's a sad movie. But it's soooo good. This weekend I'm going to see Austin Powers! We'll see how it is. I'm keeping an open mind. :)
