I've finally finished!

I've finished reading Les Misérables. What a tragic, herioc, unfair, sad, terrible, beautiful ending. I've been reading it since the 8th of July, and I just finished it not one hour ago... Ah. The satisfaction of victory. Now I have to finish the Bourne trilogy before the end of summer vacation. And I also still want to paint and do other stuff.... It looks like it will all get done.
I haven't gotten very far on my website though. But right now there are other things to worry/revel about.

Well I finished watching Schindler's List. It had a very powerful ending. I was kind of disappointed that the last tape was only an hour long, I was expecting another long sit. It ranks well on the Andrea's Supreme Ultimate Favorite Movies of All Time. Maybe number three, or around there, depending on my mood. I want to get the soundtrack! That one and the Amistad soundtrack (I have yet to see the movie) and also an album by Hem. I love the song "Half Acre", it reminds me of when I went to Gettysburg. And, as it turns out, they're from New York so I apparently picked up on my New England kin. That song gets me all sentimental.... That's my song, no one can steal it! haha.
But I don't have much money: I just got my credit card bill in the mail. However, I did find a Five-Star planner (which usually goes for $10 even at WalMart) at BigLots! for $2.99. Yeah baby yeah!! The only reason is because the front page, which has a two-years-at-a-glance calendar is 2001-2002. Like I would have used that page anyway. The rest of the planner doesn't go out of date, it's just a note-booky thing. Score!

Also, I took the Disney Quiz, and I'm Belle. Quote: "You're Belle! You are a true bookworm and dream of a life better than the simple, quiet one you lead now. Your good looks can attract the town jerks, but you manage to ignore them most of the time. Sometimes you feel like you're surrounded by idiots. So what are you waiting for? You don't need your father to be kidnapped to get out and see the world. Although you can be stubborn, you're also very compassionate and see beyond people's façades."

I am Belle!
Which Disney Princess are you?

Gee, I don't look as good in person as in the picture...

First thing's first: I got the poem a few of you requested.

"The Old Astronomer to His Pupil"

Reach me down my Tycho Brache, I would know him when we meet,
When I share my later science, sitting humbly at his feet;
He may know the law of all things, yet be ignorant of how
We are working to completion, working on from then to now.

Pray remember that I leave you all my theory complete,
Lacking only certain data for your adding, as is meet,
And remember men will scorn it, 'tis original and true,
And the obliquy of newness may fall bitterly on you.

But, my pupil, as my pupil you have learned the worth of scorn,
You have laughed with me at pity, we have joyed to be forlorn,
What for us are all distractions of men's fellowship and smiles;
What for us the Goddess Pleasure with her mereticious smiles.

You may tell that German College that their honor comes too late,
But they must not waste repentance on the grizzly savant's fate.
Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.
-Sarah Williams

On the same note, I read something about a week ago that stuck with me. Spoken by Grantaire of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, page 1093 for my own future reference: "He who says poet says fool." Words are just pretty. Of course, I think Hugo meant that poets seem to be nothing but dreamers; ironic, perhaps, coming from an author. (Although he writes like an historian; eloquent but detailed.) However, one must indulge the soul with poetry as one indulges the body with food; but obesity strikes both just as severely. So the above poem is some chocolate for my friends.
Also, as I promised, I will review the Brosnan movie (Grey Owl). It was pretty good. I was uncomfortabe at the beginning because the main character is a trapper. Luckily they never showed anything, so I know it was fake (my dad was not reassuring when he said it was a Canadian movie, and, of course, Canadian movies are not subject to the same laws as in the US. So that made me think whether they would actually kill animals to make it look real. Hey, they did it in Apocalypse Now). It even looked kind of fake, which was comforting. You know, I can watch almost anything in movies, anything except animal cruelty. Anyway, I don't want to give too much away for anyone planning to see it, but it turns out well. It's a good movie; one of those really good obscure ones where you have no idea how they convinced a big-name actor to be in it, but it turns out really well anyway.
Other movie news: I'm in the middle of watching Schindler's List. I watched one video yesterday, the other one I think we're going to watch tomorrow. Wow, what an impressive movie. Steven Spielberg was already my favorite director, now he's wayyy ahead of the competition in my book. I can't think of any better way to say it, but it blows you away.
Ahh. I love movies.
And I still haven't really gotten around to doing my template! My mom's been keeping very busy when I'm not at work, so I haven't been able to get to that quite yet. I hope I get to finish it before summer...! There's so much that needs to be finished before summer, gaw.
